Joe's STORY
Watching my dad die at 62 made me confront reality.
I thought, stop wasting time. Life is short.
First, I decided to escape the corporate rat race. I did it.
I invented Rocketbook. My main goal was to support my family while having no boss and working on a product I was excited to build.
Rocketbook was a wild success, and I sold it for $50mm.
Then, I decided to figure out how to extend my life.
I dug in. I discovered that nutrition, supplements and medicines have modest power.
But, as I read Outlive by Peter Attia, MD, and I dug deeper into the science, I learned that we do have magic "pill" that will extend life.
The best longevity drug we have is fitness.
And nothing else really comes close.
I assessed myself. I didn't like what the science told me.
I was on track to die in my 70s. My final decade would be marked by pain and frailty.
At 47, my body was already feeling old and domesticated.
My feet were deformed by regular shoes. Plantar fasciitis slowed me down.
My shoulders were click machines.
My knees felt as gristly as a two dollar steak.
I kept finding new ways to hurt my back.
I didn't like where this was headed.
Training for longevity is a different than training for vanity or sports.
When I went looking for a perfect program or trainer for my goals, I found nothing.
So I hired collaborative trainers, doctors, and physical therapists and I am refining the perfect program.
In just 6 months, I revived my body.
At 47, I can move better now that I could when I was 27.
My VO2 Max is in the 85th percentile.
My activity and energy levels are nuts.
I'm on track to live past 90 and have a superior quality of life.
I'm just getting started.
Longevity Training is a set of goals, protocols and programming that helps me live longer and move stronger.
